Factory worker sprayed with boiling water
Stephen Graham was scalded by boiling water, whilst working at a factory which manufactured plastic components. Mr Graham explained: “I was using a machine which had a water tank to pump boiling water around it. The machine had stopped while I was refilling the tank and started again automatically, before I’d finished. I was sprayed with really hot water because a simple water pipe had not been fitted correctly. This was the second time in a few months I’d suffered a burn” Mr Graham suffered a severe burn to his left wrist and won his claim for compensation with the help of Personal Injury Law firm Rapid Solicitors. A spokesman for Rapid said: “These types of accident at work are all too common. Fortunately for our client, there was no permanent scarring, but it was a nasty scald which caused him several weeks of pain and time off work. In addition to winning substantial compensation for his pain and suffering and ongoing treatment required, we recovered further damages for his other financial losses. We hope that by workers bringing actions like this, employers continue to be ever-mindful of employee safety in the workplace.”
