Sales rep’s payout for head injury
Peter Williams was working as a sales representative in Lancashire. While helping a client – a transporter company - to set up a new store with a consignment of free promotional stock, he suffered a fall and severe head injury. He approached Rapid Solicitors to progress a claim for compensation. Mr Williams said: “I had almost completed organising the stock on the shelving units when I stepped backwards. My left foot disappeared into a hole in the floor. There was a cable reel that had covered the hole before, so I hadn’t seen it. Someone moved the reel while I was setting up and didn’t tell me the hole was there. I hit my head on the fire door which had been wedged open.” A spokesman for Rapid said: “The Company was clearly negligent for permitting the hole to remain a hazard and not warning the visitor of its presence. They were fortunate that our client was not more seriously injured. This was a straightforward case in which the Defendants admitted liability. The main issue for us was to employ the right medical expert to properly assess the head trauma, so we could value the claim fairly. We had to make sure that our client received his maximum entitlement.” Mr Williams continued: “I was recommended by a friend to contact Rapid Solicitors. I’m grateful to them for winning my case. I lost bonus payments while I was off and I’m left with a scar on my head. Rapid did a good job in getting the lost earnings back for me, as well as damages for my actual injury and scarring.”
