Substantial compensation for injured metal worker
Ian Vale was working in the yard cutting up scrap metal with a flame cutting tool, when he slipped on a patch of oil on a steel sheet which was being used as temporary flooring. He fell awkwardly and suffered a broken leg and ankle, which meant he was unable to work for seven weeks. He took his claim for compensation to Personal Injury Law experts Rapid Solicitors. A source at Rapid said: “Mr Vale’s employer was negligent in that they allowed the area to become a hazard. They had a clear duty to ensure a safe working environment and so were in breach of Workplace Regulations relating to Health, Safety and Welfare. The amount of compensation we gained for Mr Vale was substantial for a leg fracture, we had to factor in the impact on our client’s home and sporting life for 6 months and the possibility of him suffering the onset of degenerative change in his ankle, which he’ll have to contend with for the of his life. Fighting a case for personal injury is not just about gaining an admission of liability from the Defendants, it’s also about employing the best medical experts to assess your clients’ injuries and the overall impact of those injuries on their home and working life. Since Mr Vale was working with a flame cutting tool when he fell, it could have been far more serious.”
